Ted Danson is an American actor, producer, and writer. He is best known for his role as Sam Malone on the NBC sitcom Cheers, for which he won two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award. He also starred in the CBS dramas CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and CSI: Cyber. Danson began his career in the 1970s, appearing in the television series The New Dick Van Dyke Show and Taxi.
