Voit was promoted to the major leagues by the Cardinals on June 25, 2017. Voit was batting.322 in 70 games with Memphis before his promotion. He had 12 home runs and 48 RBIs. After being struck by a pitch, Voit made his debut against the Pittsburgh Pirates the night before. Voit was called up against the Cincinnati Reds the following day and he doubled off Austin Brice to score his first major league hit in an eight-two win. He scored his first major league homerun on July 3. Voit batting.246 in 114 St. Louis at-bats in 2017, with four home runs and 18 RBIs. He also had a.736 OPS on base plus slugging.
Voit took over the Yankees’ starting first baseman job from Greg Bird.
